A study in watercolour of a corner of Tynemouth Priory. The coat of arms of the town of Tynemouth still includes three crowns commemorating the tradition that the Priory had been the burial place for three kings.

Next in my series of studies of Tynemouth Priory. A front view of Tynemouth Priory with a hint of menace. The nuns of St Hilda, who had come there for safety in 865 were massacred by the Danes. Such a tranquil place to linger now!
