..I love the approach to the crumbling walls of Dunstanburgh Castle. Today they need to protect only wildlife - a haven for bird watchers and the six-spot burnet moth!

First scene in a series of favourite haunts in my home town of Newcastle Upon Tyne. The Theatre Royal......many, many, many happy memories....
Open the doors to the tiny Percy Chapel behind Tynemouth Priory to reveal a vaulted ceiling painted with stars, a rose window and stained glass. A hidden gem.
Fountains Abbey. A perfect day..... a perfect place for a picnic.Wherever you look up, the elegant stone arches embrace a piece of the surrounding greenery. Watercolour finished with pastel. Now for sale.
A study in watercolour of a corner of Tynemouth Priory. The coat of arms of the town of Tynemouth still includes three crowns commemorating the tradition that the Priory had been the burial place for three kings.
Not long now till I visit my son in Hong Kong with a visit to the Great Wall, terracotta armies and pandas on the way. The orchid is a symbol of perfection and elegance in China today. Such a fascinating culture...
Next in my series of studies of Tynemouth Priory. A front view of Tynemouth Priory with a hint of menace. The nuns of St Hilda, who had come there for safety in 865 were massacred by the Danes. Such a tranquil place to linger now!
